Suizenji Jojuen (Garden of Elegance) which was built about 350 years ago has the reputation of a famous garden with beautiful streams from Mt. Aso. The garden is walking distance from the YH. Kumamoto Castle is the symbol of Kumamoto and one of the three most famous castles in Japan that was built by Kiyomasa Kato, a famous general.
